StarScream++ test broadcast up, up and away…

Total yay-age! How ya doin? Man have I got heaps of exciting news!!!

I’ve just launched the new beta beta Starlifter.TV online radio station and dubbed it… StarScream++. I set up this sweet little stream so that when my friends and I are jamming at the Starlifter.TV Complex we can share our rad tunes with you! Live jams and mixes will be announced on twitter so follow @starliftertv to be in the know. When nothing is being broadcast live an Auto DJ named HAL++ will be in control. Be afraid, very afraid.

HAL++’s tunes will constantly be changed out and currently consist of: Love of Diagrams, The Clean, Bang! Bang! Eche!, Amanda Blank, O’Lovely, The Horrors, Eels, Los Valentinos, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and Liam Finn + Eliza Jane, Lawrence Arabia + Connan Mockasin… to name a few 😉

To  tune in simple hit play on the little grey player at the top right of the Starlifter.TV website or you can listen via your fav audio player by plugging in this URL: http://81.171.50.135:9002/listen.pls

You can also listen via your iPhone or iPod Touch by downloading this app from the iTunes App Store: http://daol.aol.com/software/mac/iphone/shoutcast and then search for “StarScream”

I’m still working on a logo for StarScream++ so if you have any ideas or you’d like to have a go just buzz me yo!

Oh yeah! More more! Heaps happening eh! I’ve also got a chatroom sorted on Starlifter.TV now. Just click on the tab at the top of the window that says ‘Chatroom’, easy as!

Starlifter.TV – nearly/roughly 1 year old…

Hey yo!

October 2009 will officially be Starlifter.TV’s 1st Birthday (although I did back date some posts to June 08 from the old Mixtape Connection website). It has been a real joy and a total experiment. Over that time there has been some interesting changes. At some points it has been a personal blog, at other points pure promo for friends, it’s been a place to reflect on the music my friends and I like, but at the end of the day I wanted this website to be tool to build a community of passionate, open minded, musical party peeps.

What do you as a reader and part of this small community (we get around 100 different visitors a day) think about Starlifter.TV?!! Over the year I have tried many different things. If you’re a regular reader what do you keep coming back for? What do you enjoy reading about? What could there be less of?

Over the past year I haved tried to post as many free MP3s as possible but moving into the next year of Starlifter.TVs life I may try and limit this to Creative Commons (CC) licensed music and images as the CC philisophy and framework is an excellent alternative to the current Copyright licenses which are being used by big business to hold the [digital] world to ransom.

But yeah! What do you wanna see on Starlifter.TV? So far I’ve posted set lists for radio shows and DJ sets, podcast episodes, peeps Top 10s, videos of shit I find interesting, reviews of songs and albums, MP3s, party pics and interesting images, tunes from my band Electro Pussy Posse, DJ mixsets, live sets, lots of Christchurch music guff (that’s where I’m based), pictures of Zia from the Dandy Warhols (HOT!), interviews, blah, blah, you get the picture.

Have you been thinking about contributing? Do you think you’ve got your head around what Starlifter.TV is all about? Do you have things to say? How do you see the world? Are you a Photographer? Writer? Musician? Artist? Creative type? Pig Out! Back in CHCH-town for LIVE-ness!

Fuck yeah! The Piggy Party is coming back to CHCH town.

Pig Out are coming back to the town of their foundation to celebrate the release of their new album. ‘Revenge’ and ‘Big Mouth’ have been getting heaps of play on the RD-Poo so you must be down with this! So I’ve started digitally archiving all my old cassettes and chucking them online for all who are interested to check out and this is the first, Ed Muzik performing live at my old house on Cleveland Street a couple years back. I don’t remember exactly when it was but it was sweet house party. Beware this audio contains quite a bit of swearing and offensive language.
